Another meaningful event took place at the Altınköy Open-Air Museum. Children from Altındağ planted hundreds of vegetable seedlings. Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki joined in the children's enthusiasm.

Hundreds of seedlings were planted in Altındağ. Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki joined hands with the children, planting vegetable seedlings in the garden. Mayor Tiryaki, who dug holes and planted the seedlings with the children, also watered the vegetables together with them. The garden of the Altınköy Open-Air Museum echoed with the joyful laughter of the children.

“I FELT LIKE I WAS IN MY OWN VILLAGE”

Hayrunnisa Özcan, who participated in the seedling planting event, said, “I had so much fun. I planted tomatoes and eggplants. Altınköy is a very beautiful place... I am very happy to be here. I felt like I was in my own village. I would like to thank our Mayor very much for creating such beautiful places.”

Another participant, Zahide Ela Ulunç, said, “I had so much fun with my friends. We had a great time. We saw village life firsthand. We planted seedlings and worked with the soil. Mayor Tiryaki also accompanied us. He showed us how to plant and nurture them. Then we watered them together. These things are so enjoyable.”

“WE GAVE LIFE TO OUR SEEDLINGS, HOPE TO OUR FUTURE”

Mayor Tiryaki, stating that planting seedlings with the children of Altındağ was a special pleasure, said, “Together with our children, we planted tomato, cucumber, pepper, and eggplant seedlings. While we filled our garden with the labor of little hands, we rediscovered the value of nature and production together. With the life-giving water we gave, we gave life to our seedlings and hope to our future.”

Mayor Tiryaki stated:

“When we were bringing the Altınköy Open-Air Museum to life, we dreamed most of seeing these kinds of scenes. Our primary goal in creating this museum was to introduce children who were born and raised in the city and had never experienced village culture to village life and our traditions. Today, we are very happy to see that we have achieved this goal. In Altınköy, our children are closely observing village culture and learning about our traditions. They have the opportunity to see that tomatoes and eggplants grow in the soil, that milk is milked from cows, and that chickens are different from those they see on supermarket shelves. It was wonderful to see the joy on their faces and the curiosity in their eyes as we created our garden together today. They asked many questions, and they learned the answers through experience. Hopefully, they will never forget this day…”
