Meaningful event at Alev Alatlı Science Center... Young people from Altındağ organized an important event on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day. Stamp designs were made from the photographs of 20 women from the world and Turkey who left their mark in the fields of science, art and literature. The event, where stamp designs were made by women who shaped history such as Zübeyde Hanım, Sabiha Gökçen, Halide Edip Adıvar and Alev Alatlı, witnessed colorful moments.
“WE BOTH HAD FUN AND LEARNED”
Zübeyde Hanım Youth Center member Melisa Damla Bilici (13) said, "My grandfather had a postage stamp collection. That was the first time I saw postage stamps. Now, I had the opportunity to get to know postage stamps more closely. My friends and I had a lot of fun at the event. We both had fun and learned. I think everyone should experience this event. I made the postage stamp of Alev Alatlı, who gave his name to the Science Center we are in. I also learned the CV of Alev Alatlı. In this respect, it was useful. "There was an event," he said.
Damla Uçar, another member who attended the event, said, "I liked the event very much, I learned a lot of information. I had seen the stamp collection a few times before, but this was the first time I learned it in such detail. I designed the stamp of Turkey's first female ceramic artist, Füreya Koral. I did not know Koral before the event, so I learned that she was our first female ceramic artist."
