News of success after success continues to come from the golden youth of Altındağ. The teams, which continue their work at Altındağ Alev Alatlı Science Center and consist entirely of young people from Altındağ, attracted attention in the Teknofest competitions held first in Antalya and then in Kahramanmaraş. Alev Alatlı Science Center students participated in the Teknofest Mediterranean competition held in Antalya with 2 teams. While the ALT-Bozbey team became the Turkey finalist in the "Technologies for the Benefit of Humanity Competition Disaster Management" category, the Alendo team won the "Commercialization Potential Award" in the "Tourism Technologies" category with the virtual museum game they developed for Ankara Castle. The championship news came from the Alendo team. Alendo team, which reached the finals with the virtual museum game they developed, made its name at the top of the final competitions. “Alendo” team came first in Turkey.
“ONCE AGAIN, OUR GOLDEN YOUTH HAS MADE OUR CHESTS HAPPEN…”
Altındağ Mayor Dr. said that they are proud of the success of the young people of Altındağ. Veysel Tiryaki said, "Our young people made us proud once again. Thanks to the projects they developed, our young people from Altındağ took part in an event that is very important for the world of technology and our country and were deemed worthy of an award. As Altındağ Municipality, we will do whatever is necessary for our young people to achieve greater success. I congratulate our young people and our teachers who contributed to the projects carried out and wish them continued success."
“WE DESIGNED A VIRTUAL MUSEUM GAME”
Bilal Hamza Yıldırım (16), one of the Teknofest Workshop students, explained how they prepared for Teknofest with the following words:
"We first chose to include Ankara Castle in the virtual museology game we developed. First, we acquired drone images of the region. Then, we performed the coding process on the images. We were deemed worthy of the commercialization potential award in the Tourism Technologies competition organized within the scope of Teknofest Akdeniz. Then, we became champions in the final held in Kahramanmaraş. Our professors at the Science Center contributed a lot to us in the project development process. We would like to thank our professors who provided consultancy in this process and our municipality for providing us with these opportunities."
“SCIENCE CENTER IS A VERY USEFUL PLACE FOR TECHNOFEST WORKS…”
Alendo team member Hasan Semih Saraç (17), one of the Teknofest Workshop students, stated that he was very happy to participate in the Teknofest competition. Saraç said, "We believe that the historical and touristic buildings in Ankara should be brought to the fore more. For this reason, we took the Ankara Castle into consideration in our project. We developed the Ankara Castle virtual museum project together with 3 friends. We modeled the Ankara Castle as an interactive museum. We created the museum in the game engine. Then, we created the story of the museum and applied to the Teknofest competition. Finally, we managed to become the champion. The Science Center is a very useful place for Teknofest studies... We received a lot of support from this center during our project development process." "We also used the equipment at the center. My advice to my peers is that if they want to contribute to their personal development in the digitalizing world, they can learn software languages and game engines. These trainings will take them one step further in the professional sense." he said.
“OUR TEACHERS SUPPORTED US IN EVERY MATTER”
Another student, Mustafa Berat Özçelik (16), said, "I am the team captain of the Alendo team... We have been developing games with my teammates for 1 and a half years. Before we met the Science Center, we were working on our own with my friends. Then we met the Alev Alatlı Science Center. Our teachers working at the Science Center supported us in every aspect of our work. We received support in software and coding issues. We aim to develop high-production games in the future. We advise friends who want to work in this field to pursue what they love. "I do. It is not a job that can be done without love..." he said.
“THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN THE FIELD OF ENGINEERING CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF THE SCIENCE CENTER”
ALT-bozbey team member Emirhan Özboğa (15), who is Türkiye's finalist in Teknofest Mediterranean competitions, said that they carried out studies in 2 different categories at the Science Center. Özboğa continued his words as follows:
"With our image processing-based disaster destruction detection work, we have qualified to be the Turkey finalist in the 'Disaster Management' category in the Teknofest Mediterranean competitions. Thanks to this project, collapsed buildings are detected in case of a possible disaster. Emergency aid teams are directed to the detected buildings. Young people who are interested in the field of engineering can become members of the Science Center. Our professors both provide education and support here. They also come to Teknofest competitions with us. We would like to thank both our teachers and everyone who offers us these opportunities."
