Staff working within Altındağ Municipality continue to meet in training seminars. The topic of this week's Tuesday Talks, which are held every Tuesday in Altındağ Municipality and have become a tradition, was "Preventing and monitoring violence against women". The seminar was held by Clinical Psychologist Muradiye Oral, working at Ankara Violence Prevention and Monitoring Center of Ankara Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. In the seminar, what violence against women is, types of violence, institutional service units for women exposed to violence, institutions that victims of violence can apply to, the law on the protection of the family and the prevention of violence against women and the precautionary decisions in the law were discussed. Additionally, information was given about the Women's Emergency Support (KADES) application and the ALO 183 Social Support Line of the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
"VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS A SOCIAL PROBLEM..."
Clinical Psychologist Muradiye Oral said, "Violence against women is a social problem... There is violence that women are exposed to simply because they are women... The most common form of violence is domestic violence..." Oral also talked about the ways and methods that women victims of violence should follow and the practices implemented to protect women. 
Oral added that it is important for women who are subjected to violence to apply to the Women's Emergency Support (KADES) application and the ALO 183 Social Support Line of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Underlining that they have always been against violence against women, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, "We continue our conversations on Tuesday. Our topic this week was violence against women. Our staff showed great interest in the seminar on KADES. Our seminars will continue in all women's Education and Culture Centers affiliated with our municipality."
