Magnificent night at Ankara Mevlevi Lodge... Sufi meşki performed in Ankara's only Mevlevi lodge, located in Hamamarka, was highly appreciated. The meşk program, organized with the theme of "Divine Love" and whose artistic director was Salih Bülbül, started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. In the program, distinguished works of Sufi music met with the audience. Stating that they are happy to host such a program, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, "Ankara's only Mevlevi lodge is located in Altındağ, in Hamamarkası. Years ago, we restored this place and put it into service to organize such beautiful and meaningful nights. Now we understand better what a right job we did."
“WE THANK MAYOR VEYSEL TİRYAKİ FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO ART AND CULTURE”
Providing information about the program, Artistic Director Salih Bülbül said, "We perform the timeless works of our ancient culture as they have been handed down to us from tradition. It is very pleasing that people of all ages come to our program... However, we are more pleased to see that our young brothers are more in number. Their interest in our music makes us even more diligent." Bülbül said that, as the Foundation for Researching and Keeping Turkish Sufi Music and Folklore Alive, they organize a meshk performance program in Ankara Mevlavi Lodge once a month, and added: "Under the supervision of our foundation, we organize Mesnevi Conversations by Postnişin Nezih Dede here every month. Halveti Devran is performed by our executive committee. The elements of our Sufi culture are preserved in their original form with music and conversation." "We are trying to keep it alive," he said.
Thanking Altındağ Mayor Veysel Tiryaki for his services to Sufi culture, Bülbül said, "We thank our esteemed President for his contributions to art and culture. It is very valuable that Ankara Mevlevihanesi is revived and hosts events that suit the spirit of this place... We think that this place and the concerts we perform here fill an important gap in Ankara."
