ARCHERS FROM ALTINDAĞ HIT THE BULLSEYE
The excitement of May 19 in Altındağ… To mark May 19, Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day, the “Archery Tournament” organized by the Altındağ Municipality was filled with thrilling moments. In the archery tournament, which featured six categories, a total of 70 students aged 8–14 competed fiercely for a spot on the podium.
ALTINDAĞ YOUTH CELEBRATE THEIR MEDALS
In the 9-10-year-old girls’ category, Zeynep Arya Alıtkan took first place with 243 points, while Ahsen Ergin came in second with 237 points and Ayşe Karakaya took third with 128 points. Ayşe Betül Koçoğlu, with 112 points, placed fourth. In the 11-12-year-old girls’ category, Fatıma Zehra Dönmez took first place, Yüsra Sayın second, and Ecrin Naz Durmaz third. In the 13-14-year-old girls’ category, Defne Gökkurt celebrated her first-place victory with 246 points. Sümeyye Sena Soner came in second with 206 points, Meryem Elif Gürbüz third with 187 points, and Eslem Özer finished the competition in fourth place with 164 points.
 
In the 9-10-year-old boys’ category, Ömer Tevfik Yer won the gold medal. Recep Filizay came in second, Talha Ömer Şahin third, and Bilge Kaan Baş fourth. In the 11-12-year-old boys’ category, Emirhan Şahin took first place. Ubeyt Yer came in second, Emir Eymen Akar third, and Alperen Koçak fourth. In the 13-14-year-old boys’ category, Hasan Alp Atasoy took first place. Ali Emir Sevgi came in second, Süleyman Salim Muhammet third, and Sıraç Tercan finished fourth.

Zeynep Arya Alıtkan (10), who won the gold medal in the 9–10-year-old girls’ category, said, “I came in first in the 9–10-year-old girls’ category at the tournament, and I’m so happy. The secret to success is self-confidence, hard work, and never giving up… I want all my friends who are new to archery to never give up, no matter what. They should act with the belief that ‘I can do this’ and stay focused on their goals. If they believe, they will definitely succeed,” she said, expressing her feelings.
Emirhan Şahin, the champion of the 11-12-year-old boys’ category, emphasized that the path to championship involves hard work and dedication. Emirhan said, “I started archery four years ago. I took the first step out of enthusiasm after being inspired by a TV series I watched. Archery is a passion for me… I advise those new to this sport to work hard and keep going without getting tired.”

Congratulating the young people who participated in the archery tournament on their achievements, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, “In the tournament we organized as part of the May 19 celebrations, our young people competed in a spirit of friendship. “The young people attending courses at our Youth Centers are achieving great successes. As a municipality, we always stand by all our athletes who are passionate about sports. We will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure our young people are immersed in sports, art, and science. The champions of the future will emerge from Altındağ, insha’Allah…” he said.
 
Mayor Tiryaki added, “I congratulate our young participants and all the teachers who have worked to nurture them, and I wish them continued success. I extend my warmest wishes to all our young people on the occasion of the May 19 Atatürk Commemoration, Youth, and Sports Festival.”
