Great success from the 11-year-old member of the Golden Place Library... Zeynep Yüksekkaya, who has congenital hypotonia (muscle weakness), never gives up her love of reading books despite all the obstacles. Zeynep Yüksekkaya managed to become the member of the library who read the most books, despite her hypotonia disorder. Zeynep broke a record by reading more than 500 books to date. The little reader, who finishes two books a day, is especially interested in fairy tale books.
“I LOVE THE GOLDEN PLACE LIBRARY”
Stating that he has been a member of the Altın Mekan Library since the day it was opened, Yüksekkaya said that he loves books and reading. Zeynep, who reads at least two books a day, said, "I love the Golden Place Library. I am happy to be surrounded by books. I enjoy reading fairy tale books the most. I also have a large library at home. I often shop for books from my school's library. My biggest dream is to be a good writer and Turkish teacher in the future... I literally devour the books, so I started to understand what I read better. I think it contributes to my lessons. I can read the texts faster."
Talking about the changes she experienced in herself after making reading a habit, Zeynep said, "Reading books has increased my understanding power. I read faster, I understand faster, and this affects my lessons positively. As I read, my vocabulary and imagination develop, I discover brand new worlds. Every book teaches me something new." Zeynep advised all her peers to become members of a library and read lots of books.
“THIS LIBRARY PLAYED A GREAT ROLE IN DEVELOPING THE LOVE OF BOOKS”
Zeynep's mother, Zehra Yüksekkaya, said, "We became members of the Golden Place Library as soon as it opened. I have been reading books to my daughter every evening since she was little. She has been interested in swimming since she was 3-4 years old and has language skills. She read 550 books of the Golden Place Library. This library played a big role in her developing her love of books."
Mother Yüksekkaya continued her words as follows:
"Zeynep reads books by writers such as Nehir Yarar and Şermin Yaşar with interest. She enjoys attending book signings. She gifts the books she has collected in her own library to children younger than herself. She says, 'Mom, I want someone else to read this book, so that they will be happy too.' She does not want to keep the books she has read waiting at home, because she believes that sharing is as beautiful as reading. She loves the Golden Place Library very much. We come here almost every day."

“ZEYNEP IS AN EXAMPLE FOR US ALL WITH HER DETERMINATION…”
Congratulating bookworm Zeynep, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, "It is our greatest happiness that our children grow up with books in Altındağ... Although she is young, Zeynep inspires us all with her love of reading, determination and sense of sharing. Zeynep's efforts show what a strong character she has. Our goal is for every child to be a library friend and acquire the habit of reading books... We want our children to grow up with knowledge, books and values. We work with this awareness in our centers such as Altın Mekan Library."
"Zeynep's success reminded us once again how meaningful the work we do is," said Mayor Tiryaki, and called on the children and young people of Altındağ to benefit from the Youth Centers and neighborhood libraries in every neighborhood.
