Young people from Altındağ are against bullying... Young people from Altındağ who are members of the Youth Centers came together in the seminar called "Peer Relations and Cyber Bullying". In the seminar held by Gizem Şahin and Cansu Ergün from SGDD-ASAM Social Development and Solidarity Association; Peer bullying and cyber bullying were emphasized and information was given about what to do against bullying. In the seminar; Young people were informed about topics such as "what is peer bullying, what are the types of bullying, what is physical and verbal bullying, what is cyber bullying, how do we understand cyber bullying, how does bullying affect our daily lives, what should we do when we are bullied?" “BULLYING IS DEFINITELY NOT A JOKE, IT IS A HARM” Emphasizing that bullying can cause serious harm to people, Social Development and Solidarity Association officer Cansu Ergün said: "When we write a bad comment on a person's post in the digital world and the people around us laugh at it, we sometimes think that we are joking or that we are popular. However, this causes serious harm to the other party. Bullying is definitely not a joke, it is a harm. When we encounter physical bullying, we usually think 'if he hits me, I will hit me too'. But this is the wrong approach. The right thing is to move away from the scene and inform a trusted adult. If you are a third person who witnesses bullying, you should definitely not applaud, cheer and "You should not laugh. You should stand by your victimized friend and report the situation to an adult. In terms of preventing cyberbullying, parents need to be aware of what you are doing to protect you, as well as children." “WE ARE NOW MORE CONSCIOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE” Youth Center member Ayşe Zümra Duran, who stated that at the end of the seminar, she understood better that violence is not a solution, said: "Before, I could not fully understand how serious consequences being verbally harsh towards our friends or hitting them would cause. However, after this seminar, I understood much better what the other party could feel and how bad behavior this is. I will never treat my friends badly again. When we have a problem, I will try to listen to their troubles, understand them and solve all kinds of fights between us just by talking. In the cyber world, too, if "If I encounter bullying, I will immediately block that person and report the situation to my family or an elder," he said. Another member, Cemre Etyemez, said, "In this seminar, I learned why peer bullying should not be done and how we should treat people, and more importantly, how we should not behave. I became aware that I should no longer approach my friends by hitting them or using verbal violence, even as a joke, but on the contrary, I should always treat them with good words and not do anything that makes them uncomfortable. I gained very important information, especially on subjects that I did not know before, such as cyber bullying and cyber fraud. I now learned that I should not click on links in messages from people I do not know, because these links are behind them." "I know we cannot know what is going on. We are more conscious and knowledgeable now. We would like to thank everyone who organized these seminars and gave us this information." “WE ARE ON THE SIDE OF SOLIDARITY, NOT BULLYING” Altındağ Mayor Dr. emphasized that they attach great importance to the awareness of the youth of Altındağ in every field. Veysel Tiryaki said, "Our biggest priority is to raise our youth from Altındağ as conscious, respectful and strong individuals both in real life and in the cyber world... It is very important to raise awareness in the fight against peer bullying and cyber bullying... We are on the side of understanding, not violence, and solidarity, not bullying. We will do everything we can to ensure a youth that is on the right side. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
