Participants will walk to the wheat field with their sharpened scythes and chants, and will reap the crops in the wheat field. Afterwards, the harvested crops will be transported to the threshing floor, where horses and heifers will be plowed. After the wheat is crushed, the harvest will be carried to the water mill by donkeys. The wheat carried to the water mill will be ground here and turned into flour and then into bread. Visitors will closely witness the journey of wheat grains to become bread. The events where village traditions are introduced will not be limited to this. The rich heritage of Anatolia's village life, from sawing logs in the sawmill to threshing laundry accompanied by chants in the laundry, from sorting wheat to threshing wheat in the mortar, will be shown to visitors and passed on to new generations. WE ARE WAITING FOR ALL ANKARA PEOPLE Stating that Altınköy Open Air Museum undertakes a very important task in protecting the cultural heritage of Anatolia, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, "We want our children who come to Altınköy to learn the old village life here. We do whatever is necessary for this. The Harvest Festival has now become a tradition. Thanks to this tradition, we have the rightful joy of transferring our traditional culture, values, and the spiritual and cultural heritage of Anatolia to future generations. How wheat turns into bread, what is done in the village, how life is lived without technology, our customs and traditions, thanks to this event, we will pass on to our new generations, our children, our youth." "I hope the fertility of our land and the permanence of our traditions will last forever..." he said.
