7 thousand 500 people visited Ulucanlar Prison Museum in 3 days. The museum brought together thousands of people on the anniversary of the September 12 coup, which left a black mark on the history of democracy. Those who stayed in Ulucanlar during those years, those who somehow passed through Ulucanlar, those who witnessed the coup period and their relatives flocked to the Ulucanlar Prison Museum. The museum hosted 7,500 people on September 12, 13 and 14. BOTH THE PAIN AND THE MEMORIES WERE REFRESHED Altındağ Mayor Dr. said that they were very pleased that great interest was shown to the Ulucanlar Prison Museum, one of the most important stops in Turkish political history. Veysel Tiryaki said, "Ulucanlar Prison Museum is a very important symbol for Ankara... Many politicians, writers, literary figures and journalists passed through here during the dark years of our country. This place is the memory of Turkish political life... We understand better every day what a right thing we did by preserving this place and opening its doors as a museum." President Tiryaki said, "Every year, thousands of people meet here on the anniversary of the September 12 coup. There are people coming from every province of Turkey, as well as people coming from abroad. Both memories and pain are renewed here." TURKEY'S POLITICAL HISTORY IS IN ULUCANLAR Ulucanlar Prison Museum, one of the most important stops in Turkish political history; It attracts great attention from visitors with its wards, isolation rooms, dungeons and the sound recordings made in these sections. The section that attracts the most attention of visitors is the 6th ward, where personal belongings of well-known people who served time in Ulucanlar Prison are exhibited. The 6th ward of Ulucanlar Prison, which operated from 1925 to 2006, hosts the personal belongings of famous journalists, literary figures and politicians who were imprisoned there. In this ward, where the belongings of many well-known and important names from all walks of life are exhibited, there are the personal belongings and CV information of many people, from Bülent Ecevit to Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, from Deniz Gezmiş to Metin Toker, from Hüseyin İnan to Mustafa Pehlivanoğlu, from Kasım Gülek to Fakir Baykurt and Necip Fazıl Kısakürek. Visitors do not leave the museum without visiting the ward called "Hilton Ward". The gallows, where many executions took place, can also be seen in situ, in the courtyard of the Ulucanlar Prison Museum.
