There was harvest festival enthusiasm in Altınköy. The "Traditional Harvest Festival", held every year at the Altınköy Open Air Museum, a frequent destination for those escaping city life in Ankara, continued from where it left off. The festival was opened by Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki did it. To the ceremony; Former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Chairman of the GNAT Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Commission Vahit Kirişci, AK Party Ankara Deputies Lütfiye Selva Çam and Zeynep Yıldız, AK Party Ankara Provincial Directorate Local Governments Chairman Hamdi Balaban, Head of Political and Legal Affairs Mustafa Erdoğan, Head of Election Affairs Vahide Nur Bakır, AK Party Altındağ District Chairman Fatih Bildik, AK Party Altındağ District Women's Branch Chairman Demet Akçadağ, Altındağ Municipality council members, district organization and many citizens attended. The people of Ankara showed great interest and intense participation in the Harvest Festival. FROM WHEAT GRAIN TO BREAD The Harvest Festival started this year, as every year, with Mayor Tiryaki hammering a scythe in the village square. Mayor Tiryaki and his entourage hammered the scythes and then walked to the wheat field. The crops harvested with scythes were carried to the threshing floor. Mayor Tiryaki rode horses and threw batoz here. The wheat thrown into the path was carried to the water mill by donkeys. The next stop of the participants was the water mill. Wheat ground in the water mill was turned into flour. Bread was made from the milled flour in the village oven. Protocol members and citizens attending the festival closely witnessed the transformation process of wheat grain into bread. The harvest process was greatly appreciated by the children who attended the event. The events did not end there. The rug in the laundry room was also slapped. Additionally, Ashura, boiled in the cauldrons in the village square, was served to the participants. "WE PROTECT FORGOTTEN VALUES" Mayor Veysel Tiryaki emphasized that as Altındağ Municipality, it is always their duty to protect the past, and said, "Today, we came together again for the traditional harvest festival of our Altınköy Open Air Museum. After a long time, we met again in this beautiful village, in this meaningful museum. In Altınköy, in addition to keeping the village life in Anatolia alive, we introduce the beauties of natural life and our traditions to our children. We do whatever is necessary to pass on Anatolian traditions to future generations. The forgotten ones." "We stand by our values," he said. "CHILDREN SHOULD VISIT ALTINKÖY MOST" Stating that Altınköy Open Air Museum is a place that should be visited especially by children, Mayor Tiryaki said, "Altınköy Open Air Museum is a place located right in the middle of the city... It is also a world-renowned open-air museum... It also serves as a school in terms of teaching the village life of 100 years ago. We have children who think that milk is produced in factories, cucumbers grow on trees, see chicken only in the market and grow up like this. We want them to learn the old village life here. I was born in the village, "I grew up in the village. I know very well what it means to live in a village and the traditions of the village. I want today's children to learn these, too. We are passing on our traditional culture, our values, and this rich cultural heritage that exists in all of our memories, to future generations through Altınköy. We are struggling to explain how wheat is turned into bread, what is done in the village, and how life is lived without technology." "WE WELCOME EVERYONE TO ALTINKÖY OPEN AIR MUSEUM." Emphasizing once again that Altınköy is an open-air museum, Mayor Tiryaki said: "Altınköy is not a park, this is an open-air museum... Besides being a very beautiful open-air museum, Altınköy itself also contains very important museums. Living museum houses also add a lot of value to Altınköy. In many museum houses, you can travel to the past and hundreds of visitors come every day. In the Village Room, the story of Altınköy's founding is told with photographs. In the Ethnography Museum, there are wax statues depicting village life with local clothes." "It attracts a lot of attention. The Village Museum, where the items used in village places are exhibited, the Village Toys Museum, consisting of village toys, and the Children's Activity House, where children can play almost forgotten games, are also located in Altınköy. We invite everyone who wants to experience village life to the Altınköy Open Air Museum."
