FROM WHEAT GRAIN TO BREAD The Harvest Festival started this year, as every year, with Mayor Tiryaki hammering a scythe in the village square. Mayor Tiryaki and his entourage hammered the scythes and then walked to the wheat field. The crops harvested with scythes were carried to the threshing floor. Mayor Tiryaki rode horses and threw batoz here. The wheat thrown into the path was carried to the water mill by donkeys. The next stop of the participants was the water mill. Wheat ground in the water mill was turned into flour. Bread was made from the milled flour in the village oven. Protocol members and citizens attending the festival closely witnessed the transformation process of wheat grain into bread.
