Awareness training continues for the little ones of Altındağ. Primary school students who are members of Altındağ Municipality Youth Centers met at the "Forest" seminar. The seminar, held in Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison in cooperation with TEMA Foundation, was greatly appreciated by the little ones. The little kids from Altındağ, who learned a lot of information about forests in the seminar, went on a colorful trip into the mysterious world of forests. “A FOREST IS NOT JUST TREES” TEMA Foundation Representative Zeynep Ceylan first gave information to the students about the forest and forest ecosystem. Ceylan talked about topics such as how many tree species there are in our country, plants, fungi, birds, viruses, bacteria, food web in the forest ecosystem, how trees talk, how we protect our nature. Stating that they liked the seminar very much, students from Altındağ expressed their gratitude to Altındağ Municipality and Mayor Tiryaki for this informative and entertaining event. Emphasizing that forests are not just trees, they contain a huge world, Ceylan said, "There are not just trees in forests. There is a whole world there. Just as people have homes, plants and animals also have homes in which they live, and we are responsible for protecting those homes." “PEOPLE ARE THE MOST DISTURBING THE FOREST ECOSYSTEM” Ceylan said, "Humans are the ones who destroy the forest ecosystem the most. We, the people, are the ones who destroy this ecosystem the most by leaving our garbage in the forests, acting unconsciously in the forests, lighting fires, causing fires, and cutting without permission. To prevent these, we need to know and love nature first. In this way, we can protect the forests by going on trips to the forests, collecting the garbage we see, not throwing cigarette butts on the ground, and reducing forest cuttings." “IT IS VERY VALUABLE FOR THEM TO FEEL RESPONSIBLE TOWARDS THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN…” Expressing his satisfaction with the children of Altındağ gaining environmental and forest awareness, Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki said, "It is very valuable for our children to know nature from an early age, to gain environmental awareness and to feel responsible for the world they live in... Forests are not only areas consisting of trees, but also a large living space containing thousands of living creatures. Giving this awareness to our children at an early age is the most effective way to protect our future. As Altındağ Municipality, we will continue to support educational and awareness-raising activities that bring our youth and children together with nature, inshallah..." Mayor Tiryaki added that information and training seminars for individuals of all ages will continue in Altındağ.
