In Altındağ, Mother's Day celebrations began this year, as in previous years, with programs filled with both emotion and joy. The "Mother's Day Special Concert," held in collaboration with Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts, was met with great appreciation.
The concert, held specifically for mothers in Altındağ, delighted the ears of the audience. Hosted by Altındağ Mayor Dr. Veysel Tiryaki and his wife Saadet Tiryaki, the concert was also attended by Barış Demirci, Vice Rector of Ankara University of Music and Fine Arts. The program, held at the Altındağ Municipality Necip Fazıl Cultural Center, was filled with both emotional and joyful moments.
MAYOR TİRYAKİ MOVES THE AUDIENCE TO TEARS
The tradition continued at the Mother's Day celebration program. Mayor Tiryaki recited the poem "The Death of the Home" by Sezai Karakoç. The lines, “Mother is gone and the houses have turned into summer hotels… Mother is gone and the water has wrinkled in the pitchers… Now, even if the laundry is washed, it is always dirty. Even if everyone gathers in the living room, no one is home,” moved everyone in the hall.
President Tiryaki said, “Mother’s Day is not a day to be remembered only once a year… A mother is the cornerstone of society. There is no blessing in the homes of those who do not receive the blessings of their mothers and fathers. Everyone whose mother is alive should cherish her and go and kiss her hand. I congratulate all mothers on Mother’s Day, especially the mothers of our martyrs.”
A JOYFUL CONCERT
The program continued with a concert organized by the Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, Music and Performing Arts Research and Application Center. The orchestra and choir, under the direction of Artistic Director and Lecturer Esin Doğan, delighted the audience with folk songs from all four regions, from Azerbaijan to Nevşehir, from Van to Kırşehir. The listeners sang along to the folk songs in unison.
