A loving workshop in Ulucanlar... Painter and instructor Fatma Nedret Munzur's workshop... Colorful at all hours of the day, always full of joy... Munzur's positive energy and smiling face are evident in every corner of the workshop. Fatma Nedret Munzur, who was introduced to art at a very young age, presents her paintings, which she has made passionately since the age of 3-4, to art lovers in her workshop located in Altındağ Municipality Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison Art Street. Munzur has also been providing education to art lovers of all ages in her loving workshop since 2013. “WE DEFINITELY NEED ART TO FEED OUR SOUL AND TO KNOW OURSELVES” Nedret Munzur says, "Love yourself first, then love all creation unconditionally. Love so that you can see the sun within the sun," and summarizes his artistic journey with these words: "Painting is a desire that comes from my soul... I have been painting for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I would straighten the wrapping paper that came home and draw a lot on it. We had a cabinet in our house. I would draw pictures with chalk on the door of that cabinet. I received degrees in painting competitions I participated in. I still experience the same excitement as the first day about painting. I am also interested in poetry. I have 2 poetry books. I believe that love is the greatest prayer. I am a fan of Yunus Emre and Mevlana. Mystical feelings are always inside me." "I wanted to convey my inner feelings to my canvas. As the Great Ataturk said, 'A nation without art means one of its lifeblood has been severed.' I am one of those who believe in this saying. We definitely need art to nourish our souls and know ourselves." MUNZUR'S LOVE FOR HORSES IS ALSO REFLECTED ON THE CANVAS The horse figure stands out in the works of the painter Munzur, who won the great love of his people with his smiling face and loving approach. For Munzur, the horse figure is not only an aesthetic element, but also a symbol of deep meaning, patience, power and elegance... Painter Munzur, who reflects his admiration for horses on his canvases, expresses his deep love for horses as follows: "Horses are the symbol of nobility. They are one of the most evolved animals. The horse is always standing until it dies, even when it sleeps. In this respect, it is very valuable to me." “MY YOUNGEST STUDENT IS 3, MY OLDEST STUDENT IS 85 YEARS OLD” Recommending families to direct their children to art, Munzur said, "Families should direct their children to art and sports in order to protect them from electronic and subliminal messages. Young people should be upright like 'Elif'. Their souls should rise, not their egos. Their surroundings should be full of flowers." Munzur continued his words as follows: "Life is a world school... We live like a picture drawn on water in this world school. I believe that we are both teachers and students of each other. I believe that ancient knowledge and art can be beneficial to people. For this reason, I have been passing on my knowledge to people of all ages who have devoted themselves to art in this street, in this workshop, for years. I also have my students work on this movement. My youngest student is 3 years old and my oldest student is 85 years old... My door is open to everyone..." “THERE IS NO ART STREET LIKE THIS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD” Painter Fatma Nedret Munzur, who has accomplished many successful exhibitions at home and abroad, thanked Altındağ Mayor Dr. for her support. He expressed his gratitude to Veysel Tiryaki. Munzur said, "I have been practicing my art, opening exhibitions, and training new talents on this street for 12 years, under the umbrella of Altındağ Municipality. I would like to thank our greatest supporter, our dear President Veysel Tiryaki, who is the friend of art and the artist." Adding that he was very happy to work at Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison Art Street, Munzur said, "There is no such Art Street anywhere in the world. I am very happy to be here. This is a very valuable area for Turkey... Art Street is in a very beautiful place in terms of location... I hope these beauties will always continue. Everyone who comes to Ankara should definitely visit Ulucanlar Art Street."
