Buildings of the Republican Period

Second Turkish Grand National Assembly Building

The building, where Atatürk (the founder of Turkey) addressed his famous Nutuk (The Speech), was designed as People’s Party Club by Vedat Tek, well-known architect of the period, in 1923. It was used as the second Grand National Assembly building until 1960. Today it is the Museum of the Republic.
